  67. KeyText - the keyboard macro program with Windows automation. KeyText's
  68. basic function is the storing of pieces of text, ready to be typed or
  69. pasted into whatever application you are working on. Autotext in your
  70. system tray! You can set up hotkeys to all your favorite text items - one
  71. keypress and the text is in. Your Word Processor probably has a function
  72. like this already, but what about your database program, your desktop
  73. publisher, your e-mail program? The beauty of KeyText is that it's always
  74. there waiting in your tray, and works for most applications.

  76. Added to this keyboard macro ability are a number of features which
  77. transform it into a multi-purpose utility.

  79. Include in "text" commands to fill in the date, run programs, click
  80. buttons, change windows, select menu items, play a sound, display a
  81. message, and more. Easy wizard-based dialogs help you set it up. You can
  82. even specify an Internet address, and KeyText will take you there
  83. (assuming you have modem etc); hotkey it and you can launch your browser
  84. and go to the site on one keypress.

  86. Schedule items to start at specified times. Because the text
  87. can include commands (fields), you can run programs at specified times,
  88. display reminders or alarms with your choice of sound, even have an
  89. hourly chime.

  91. Windows automation. Tell KeyText to look out for a certain window or
  92. dialog, and then run an item. Completely automate password entries,
  93. repetitive dialogs, etc. KeyText itself includes 5 password levels to
  94. protect any passwords, credit card numbers etc you might store.

  96. KeyText can operate as a multiple clipboard, and makes collecting text
  97. easy. You can set up KeyText to monitor your clipboard, and whenever text
  98. is copied to it, automatically add the same text to a specified text
  99. item. This makes it easy to gather text from various sources to put into
  100. one destination. You don't even need to open a text file to get at its
  101. text; select it in Windows Explorer and a couple of mouse clicks puts a
  102. copy of it in KeyText ready for reuse.

  104. KeyText can either paste or type your text. Pasting is faster, but
  105. "typing", character by character, has advantages. It can include
  106. commands, it doesn't require the clipboard, and you can choose the speed.
  107. For the benefit of online-chat users it includes "simulate manual typing"
  108. settings; add some pauses, mistakes and backspaces and the person at the
  109. other end will never know it's being typed automatically!

  111. KeyText has a random link function. Set up your e-mail signature in
  112. KeyText, along with a random link to a range of quotations held in other
  113. items. Hotkey the signature if you like. Then, every time you press the
  114. hotkey, your e-mail signature will be typed in, followed by a quotation
  115. drawn at random.

  117. KeyText can display a miniature "keyboard" on your screen, which lets you
  118. "type" with your mouse or pointing device. This was added for the benefit
  119. of those who don't always have a keyboard attached, and asked for the
  120. facility to key text with KeyText. The Keypad also has a symbols tab; all
  121. those tricky symbols like ⌐ etc are only a click away - as are all the
  122. accented characters.

  124. It's very unobtrusive... It hides itself away in the tray, near your
  125. system clock. A left-click on the icon reveals a menu showing all your
  126. text items ready to be typed. A right-click shows all the options
  127. available.

  145. KeyText is distributed as a .zip file. Extract the files to a (temporary)
  146. folder, and run SetupKT.exe. During the install process you can choose
  147. to have KeyText added to your list of programs which start every time
  148. Windows starts; you can change this later in KeyText.

  150. To uninstall, select KeyText from Add-Remove Programs in Windows control
  151. panel.

  153. Note that from v1.1, the KeyText setup program SetupKT.exe is
  154. digitally "signed" by MJMSoft Design Ltd., using public key cryptography.
  155. This can be confirmed with the SafenSigned Verifier - available from
  156. http://www.securisys.com/ - and ensures that the file is authentic and
  157. has not been modified or tampered with in the distribution channel. Our

  218. 1. DEFINITIONS
  219. The "Company" means MJMSoft Design Limited, a company incorporated in
  220. the United Kingdom under the laws of Scotland and registered under the
  221. Companies Act 1985 (registered number 183702) and having its registered
  222. office at 6 Polwarth Crescent, Edinburgh, EH11 1HW, United Kingdom.
  223. The "Software" means the KeyText program, being the program available by
  224. accessing the attached files and available for use on the Windows 95,
  225. Windows NT4, or later operating systems, and any future releases
  226. of the Software.

  228. 2. LICENSE
  229. 2.1 Completion of the installation of the Software licenses you to use
  230. the Software personally on one or more computers for evaluation
  231. purposes only. The License is transferable in terms of Clause 7 and
  232. will terminate at the end of 28 days of use subject to payment of the
  233. registration fee and completion of the registration process.
  234. 2.2 Payment of the registration fee and completion of the registration
  235. process will automatically continue the term of the License. This
  236. License will permit one copy of the Software to be used by the
  237. registered user on one computer at any one time. If it is intended that
  238. more than one person will use the Software they must register
  239. separately with the Company and make payment of the registration fee.
  240. If it is intended that the Software will be used on more than one
  241. computer at one time you should contact the Company to obtain the
  242. appropriate License.
  243. 2.3 This License covers this release and any future release of the
  244. Software.

  246. 3. TERM
  247. This License as extended pursuant to clause 2.2 of this License is
  248. effective until terminated by destruction of the Software and all
  249. associated documentation together with all copies of the Software. It
  250. will also terminate if you fail to abide by its terms. Upon termination
  251. you agree to destroy all copies of the Software and all documentation
  252. including any Software stored on the hard disk of any computer under
  253. your control.

  255. 4. MILLENIUM COMPLIANCE
  256. The Company has tested the Software for Year 2000 compliance, and has
  257. encountered no problems. Date logic is not used for counting the 28-day
  258. evaluation period; instead the Software counts the number of distinct
  259. days on which the Software is used. The Software's ability to include
  260. the date within a text item uses long date formats, which are
  261. unaffected by the 2000 boundary. The Company has tested various
  262. scenarios, including installation within 28 days of 1/1/2000, and has
  263. found no abnormalities. The Company provides no warranties in relation
  264. to Year 2000 compliance and your remedies for any such failure of the
  265. Software shall be limited to the provisions for technical support in
  266. Clause 5 and/or repayment of the registration fee.

  268. 5. SUPPORT
  269. The Company will provide free technical support in relation to the
  270. Software by mail or e-mail, which support is limited to advice and
  271. assistance relating to the installation and operation of the Software
  272. itself, and shall be provided for a period of 90 days from the date on
  273. which you make your first request to the Company for support. The
  274. Company does not undertake to give advice on "scripts" to perform
  275. specific tasks in other software applications. If you are experiencing
  276. difficulties in operating the Software you should refer to the Help
  277. file, including the section "Frequently asked questions", or, where
  278. appropriate, to the user manual for your operating system or to your IT
  279. department.

  281. 6. COPYRIGHT
  282. All title and copyright in and to the Software and any copies thereof
  283. are owned by the Company and the Company shall at all times retain
  284. ownership of the Software. You must maintain all copyright notices on
  285. all copies of the Software.

  287. 7. TRANSFER
  288. You are permitted to transfer the Software and the benefit of this
  289. License to another person provided that he has agreed to accept all the
  290. terms of this License and you contemporaneously transfer all copies of
  291. the Software you have made to that person or destroy all copies not
  292. transferred. If any transferee does not accept such terms then the
  293. License to the transferee shall automatically terminate. The transferee
  294. must register their details with the Company in order to obtain the
  295. benefit of the License.

  299. in the circumstances required to be permitted by law you may not rent,

  307. You may distribute the unregistered version of the Software freely,
  308. provided you do not receive any direct payment for such distribution,

  310. be noted that the installation program SetupKT.exe is protected with a
  311. SafenSigned Digital Signature, and before running it the Company
  312. recommends that you use the SafenSigned Verifier to ensure that the
  313. installation program you received is authentic and has not been

  316. Any distribution may only be made subject to the terms of this License
